🕊️ Remembering Demarea Jabreal Jackson
Sunrise: 9.21.97 – Sunset: 2.4.24
Demarea was an amazing son, full of life and promise. His light was dimmed too soon by the devastating impact of gun violence—an epidemic that continues to rob families and communities of their sons, daughters, siblings, and friends. Though Demarea struggled with mental illness, his life still mattered. He should never have been gunned down in the streets. 💔
Gun violence doesn’t just end lives—it destroys futures, breaks hearts, and leaves lasting trauma in its wake. For every person lost, countless others are left to mourn and make sense of the senseless. It's a crisis that intersects deeply with mental health, grief, and community resilience.
💡 June 2025 marks Gun Violence Awareness Month, a time to honor those we've lost and take action toward change. On June 7, 2025, Keys 3 the Future and founder Keycha Gallon will host a powerful day of remembrance, healing, and community at an awareness event that brings together hope and purpose.
🎯 Event Highlights Include:
-
Support services for grieving families 🤝
-
Games and fun activities for youth 🎈🎮
-
Keynote speaker Pastor Dionne S. Goree 🎤
-
Partnering organizations offering resources, love, and solutions ❤️
Together, we advocate for mental health awareness, honor those lost to violence, and uplift our youth to change the narrative. Because one life lost is one too many. Let’s unite to #StopGunViolence and #HealOurCommunities 🙏🏽🧡
